Fr. Louis Charuvila Pappy
Fr. Louis was born in Kerala, India in 1974. He was ordained as a priest on 30th December 1999 at St. Thomas Cathedral Bathery, Kerala, after completing his priestly training at St. Mary’s Malankara Seminary, Trivandrum, Kerala, India.
Fr Louis holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Calicut, Kerala, a Master’s Degree in Theology from the Catholic University of Belgium and a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
Fr. Louis served as the Parish Priest of various parishes of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, Diocese of Bathery in Kerala, and the Diocese of Rockville Centre, Long Island, United States.
Prior to his new assignments in the United Kingdom, he was the Resident Professor and Finance Officer of St. Mary’s Malankara Seminary. He served as the Pastoral Co-Ordinator of Europe for the Malankara Catholic faithful residing outside India.
In addition to this, he served as the Secretary to the Bishop, Chancellor and Finance Officer of the Institutions, and Executive Director of the Diocesan Social Apostolate.
Fr. Louis is the Chaplin of the Syro –Malankara Catholic Missions of Manchester, Sheffield and Liverpool of the Malankara Catholic Church in the United Kingdom.
In September 2024, Fr Louis was appointed Parochial Administrator of St Chad’s Cheadle, St Ann’s Cheadle Hulme & Christchurch Heald Green in the Diocese of Shrewsbury.
In March 2024, Fr Samuel Vilayil was appointed as the Assistant parish priest of St Ann's, St Chad's and Christ Church in addition to his responsibilities for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in Sheffield, Liverpool and Blackpool. Fr Samuel (also known as Fr Libu) belongs to the Archdiocese of Tiruvalla of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church. He is also from Kerala, India. Born in 1985, he completed his priestly training from the Papal Seminary in Pune. He was ordained in 2014 for the Archdiocese of Thiruvalla. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Management Studies. he was the manager of of a reputed Management College in Kerala and was the director of the social service department of the Archdiocese, and also served as the parish priest of different parishes.

LOCAL PASTORAL AREA St Ann's is one of the three churches making up the Shrewsbury Diocese's Local Pastoral Area 19 - dedicated to St Chad, a 7th century bishop thought to have had links with this area (Cheadle = Chad Hill?) ECUMENISM St Ann’s parish is an active member of Churches Together in Cheadle Hulme (CTCH), which includes all the Christian churches of the area and strives to foster Christian Unity in prayer, service and fellowship through various joint events and regular meetings. The ministers of the churches also meet monthly for prayer, discussion and mutual support.
