The parish of St. Ann's Cheadle Hulme was founded in 1952.

Previously Mass was celebrated in Cheadle Hulme at The Kings Hall on Station Road. Being serviced by a priest from St. Chads in Cheadle. With the building of more housing so the need came about to form a new parish and appoint a parish priest.

Canon Howe left St. Chad’s Cheadle to become the first parish priest of St. Ann’s, Cheadle Hulme in the year of foundation.
